The Otley Wetlands Nature Reserve has been developing for over twenty years now on what was a gravel and sand quarry area. The walk will show a variety of habitats including lakes and woodland created from the quarry-land.  We will then walk to the Gallows Hill Reserve; its position high on the riverbank makes for a different character from that of the Wetlands.  The total length of the walk will be about 5 miles.

Cost £12 member, £15 non-member.

Following his talk on Dry Stone Walling last year, Brian will take us on a journey through the history of Enclosure of the land. Where and why did it begin? Who were the landowners? How did Enclosure shape the built landscape of the Valley as we know it today. Maybe some intriguing local tales!

Light refreshments served.  Cost £10 member, £12 non-member.
